I took a guy to hospital 70 miles away last Monday, he was a friend of my late father in law. He has no one. He had a nose bleed that wouldn’t stop. Had to go to two hospitals in the city before they would see to him. Spent whole day in hospital, then drove home. He bought me my dinner at a local hotel as a thank you, though he didn’t need too. I was delighted to be able to help him. – Brian

A waitress at our favorite restaurant was looking troubled one day. I asked what was the matter and she told me of her chronic shoulder and neck pain. I came home and mixed up a roller bottle of essential oils for muscle pain and dropped off one day asking her friend to give it to her next morning. Mother’s Day when hubby took me to breakfast, my waitress friend came over so thrilled that the oils helped relieve her pain! – Pat

My ex and I don’t split holidays, we share them together so our daughter doesn’t have to miss out on either of us. We buy together and contribute as a whole… not a half. Usually have Sunday dinner together as well so our girl gets at least one full family meal a week. We’ve also gone places together as a family because that’s what we still are. No courts, no payments, just us being parents like we signed up to be. read more →

It was a sunny day. I was walking in one of the sectors more dangerous in Bogota, the Jimenez Avenue. There inhabit indigent people. They did not have covers, not even the basic needs such as a home for living, a dish with food, etc. Besides, their rights had been violated because the policemen were going for this avenue and they saw to the indigents lying down in the street and began to hit them. read more →

One very cold afternoon I was with my sister and my cousins, playing hide and seek where my grandmother lives. She lives in a quiet place full of nature. During a moment of the game, I hid behind some old tires and heard a strange noise. It was as if someone was crying. I went to look and saw that behind the rims were 6 newborn puppies. There were two females and four males. They were with their mom and she really looked very bad, so I ran and called quickly to my sister and a cousin to come see.  read more →

12 years ago, a dear friend was dying and knew she may not make it to my birthday. So she had her son got me a box of Whitman’s Chocolates (sampler) and a card. She had no family besides him, but treated my family and me with great love! It meant so much that she had such a strong desire to make me happy just days before her passing, although I never even expected anything from her. read more →
