Today was another yucky day. Upon checking the mail, I found a package with my name on it. That was exciting enough, but seeing the beautiful pillow inside touched me extremely deeply! The person who sent it had asked for my address some time back, saying they had something for me, but I assumed it was a card! Well, I was actually correct, because there was a sweet card inside too! It totally brightened my day and is so huggable!! read more →

I was finished putting my groceries in my car yesterday and returned my cart to the cart return area. As I looked around, I saw a lady who was using an electric chair with a basket on the front (most stores have them here for folks who can’t walk well for whatever reason). She was at her car about to unload her groceries, and when I walked over and saw she had terrible edema in both legs – this happens when your lymphatic system does not work properly and fluids don’t drain from your body, and I’ve heard it is both painful and debilitating – anyway I made sure I looked her right in the eyes and asked with a smile on my face, if I could help put her groceries in her car for her. read more →

I was at our local IGA supermarket and had just got in my car, went to start it and saw a mum with a maybe 6 month old on one hip, two bags of groceries in one hand, another bag in the other hand and a toddler struggling to let go of that hand in the car park. Cars and stuff about, obvious danger and mum was trying hard to get the toddler to stay with her. read more →

Recently I went for a walk around my local neighbourhood to enjoy a little fresh air and enjoy a spot of sunshine. During my walk, I came across a gorgeous little bucket filled with lemons hanging from a fence. ‘Help yourself’ was written on the bucket inviting anyone walking by to enjoy. Immediately I thought what a lovely thing to offer and share with the local community. I smiled broadly. read more →

So this happened on our trip to Vermont, on the hike up to Camel’s hump (burrows trail?). With me are my wife, my 7-year-old daughter, 3-year-old son and 1-year-old strapped to me. The weather forecast was great, warm and sunny. It took us almost 3 hours to make it to 3/4 way to the top. Was proud of everyone to make it that far. read more →
