I witnessed a young homeless man and his dog crossing the road during a red light. A guy in a big SUV became outraged and tried to make it look like he was going to hit him and did, in fact, come close to hitting the dog. The homeless man was definitely a little intoxicated. He started yelling at the SUV: “just come talk to me about it. I’m a human too.” He seemed about to cry. read more →

My youngest (10) likes to help out around the house as much as he can. Dishes, feeding the dogs and vacuuming, even though it’s had for him to push it back and forth. He helps prepare food and clean up after meals. read more →

When I had just had my first daughter we were doing it a little tough and my partner at the time played a lot of online computer games.

He was in a “clan” and had met a few people from around Australia. One of them was an IT guy and had a pretty good wage and sent us a few CD’s with info on them and when we opened the case, there was $300 inside! He had included a little note that said there was $100 for each of us to spend on something just for us and his only request was we pay it forward when we were in a good position. I watched a woman in line ahead of me one day go into sheer panic because she couldn’t find her credit card. I looked around and saw people getting annoyed and the cashier suspended her sale so she could take other customers. read more →

Last Christmas eve, my daughter and I were at Walmart buying a Christmas dinner feast for a family we’d heard was in need.

While we were there, we saw a young couple approach a family that looked like they were struggling financially. The couple chatted with the family a little and then gave them a Walmart gift card. read more →
