God’s children are out today

On thanksgiving a few years back, my first solo one after I decided not to hang with my toxic family, I went to my favorite deli and a man asked me for a sandwich. I said sure.

I went into the deli but then came out and got the man and brought him inside so he could choose his own sandwich. He did smell, but I barely noticed. Everyone in line looked away. I told the deli people he was with me and helped the man choose his bread, told him to get some chips and a dessert and a drink too. I got him two sandwiches so he had one for later. It took ten minutes.

He thanked me and I hugged him. He said to me that God’s children are out today and I said they sure are. I looked him directly in the eye and I have never and will never forget him. He made my thanksgiving full of love. – Angelina ❤
