Getting to his family for Christmas

While at the hospital today, I noticed a young fella on crutches with a backpack. The receptionist spoke to him about a taxi saying she hadn’t been able to confirm if they were going to pick him up and take him to the airport. 

When I was finished with what I was there for, he was still waiting and I heard him say he had 30 minutes to get there, so I offered him a lift. He asked me if I was going that way and I said no but it was my Christmas gift to him and it was only 15 minutes away. He was very grateful and made it to check-in on time.

I like to think he will get to his family for Christmas now.  – Dawn
