Teaching children to give

I’m so proud of my kids!

They have done things from serve food at a local church, to help build community gardens, to educating kids about the importance of eating healthy and how to grow your own garden, to raising awareness and money for breast cancer, to putting together “necessity bags” for the homeless as well as emergency workers.

They have collected items/money for victims of disaster, taken our cat to nursing homes, made cards for elderly across the country (they send over 900 out at Christmas), sent packages to the military, gotten their schools involved in sending pictures/cards to elderly.

There are so many things that children can do that bring smiles to people’s faces.

I love kids interacting with the elderly especially.

So many people get older and have no family. No physical or emotional contact with other people. No smiles or laughter. That breaks my heart.

We need to teach children how valuable our elderly are. They are not to be thrown away in some home and forgotten. –  Deanna 🙁
