Little things can have huge ripple effects
Last week I was visiting my father in the hospital. My dad has late-stage cancer and is dying.
I stopped at the deli within the hospital to grab a coffee on my way up to his room. Sitting there was an elderly homeless man. He was eating the soup crackers from the deli. I took all the money I had and bought him the best sandwich the deli had, a cup of fruit, a cup of coffee, a bottled water and 2 frosted sugar cookies for dessert. I set them on his table and simply told him to “eat well my friend”.
There were kids watching me. Maybe they remember this and grow up to show compassion for someone less fortunate than themselves. Little things can have huge ripple effects. – Laurie
