Help for a budding musician

While visiting the local 7-11, I overheard the customer in front of me telling the cashier that she couldn’t afford to rent her son’s viola anymore and that he was devastated.

I pondered this for a moment and politely broke into their conversation. I explained to the lady if she could wait there a little while I could give her my viola. She very gratefully accepted and I went back home and retrieved my viola and brought it back to her.

She was really amazed – viola’s are not exactly common and it was a very random event to have us both at the same place and right time. I felt particularly grateful to be able to help out because I remembered when I was young, my lessons and rental were a stressful financial burden.
