My actions might encourage others to be kind

Give From The Heart Without Return.
I went to the service station to put a little petrol in my car. At the next pump was a rundown car. In the front passenger seat was a woman, in the back, a young boy – probably the son of the woman and the man who stood at her open window abusing her. The stress was almost palpable and the distraught look on the woman’s face brought tears to my eyes.

I was about to pay for their petrol as I paid for my own but the attendant told me they had arranged for the son to go get the needed $40. I went on my journey but something told me to go past the servo on my way home 30 minutes later.

There they all sat, still in a state of distress, the yelling continuing. I pulled in and discretely went into the attendant. No, they hadn’t paid and the police were about to be called. I paid and left, asking that the attendant tell the family simply that they could leave and the matter was sorted.

I’ve never thought about it again until now and never realised that my actions might encourage others to be kind. Good luck with this project. I hope it helps to create a kinder world. – Mel 🙂
