Be aware of things around you!

My day started out great, everything planned in advance – but it quickly went downhill.

I dropped off two dogs to get spayed at 7:30, I planned to go to college to drop off my daughter’s paperwork, sign my lease agreement on new home, get my new license plate for my truck, go into the office for a couple of hours, and pick up my dogs at 3:00 pm. Everything went well until about 9:00.

College was a wasted 3 hours – they would not talk to me because my daughter had turned 18 – I had to go get her. I was not a happy person, but on my way home I spotted an older man (older than me, and I’m 60) pushing his rolling walker/chair up a hill and sweating profusely. To make matters worse, it was hot, and he was bent at a 45 degree angle. I could NOT imagine having to walk this way.

I asked him how far he had to go, and in very broken English (he was from somewhere in the Middle East by his accent) he said “Doctor, Kroger”. I stared at him for a moment – Kroger was over 2 miles away! I needed to pass it to get to my house so I asked him if he would like a ride. He smiled really big and said, “Yes, wonderful”. I drive a Ford truck and had to help lift him into the truck, but we did it, and I got him to the doctor’s. I believe it was God’s way of saying, relax, some things are far worse. Yes, I had the remainder of a really bad day, but I am ever so grateful that I can get around!

Be aware of things around you – there are MANY ways to Ripple the Kindness!! – Lila 🙂
