My Mum took us into the city for a night as a treat over the school holidays.
We had a heap of fun doing various things. We did a lot of walking while we were there and we saw quite a few homeless people. My Mum had told my brother and I a lot about homeless people and how fortunate we are to have food and clothes and a house and of course each other. I saw one man sitting on the footpath and decided that I wanted to give him $5 of my birthday money. The man was really nice and very grateful and he shook my hand. I am so happy I did that for him. It made me feel kind. – Casey, age 10
