Comforting a Grieving Community

There’s an older couple in the Palo Alto, CA area who have no idea that their gesture of paying for my daughter and her friend’s lunch is comforting a grieving community.

My daughter was clearly going through chemotherapy and her friend had just had a baby. They met for lunch so my daughter could meet the little guy for the first time. When my daughter asked for the check, the server said someone had already paid it. My daughter believed an older couple who stopped by their table to chat and admire the baby are the angels in this narrative.

Today is the one-month anniversary of my daughter’s passing away. She was a giver, always doing for other people but in this instance, she was a recipient of a random kindness and it meant so much to her. – Din ❤
