It will always come back to you
A few weeks ago, I was on my lunch break and had to run to Walmart to pick up a few school supplies for my son. As I was walking towards the door I noticed a mom and her son with a sign, which at that point I couldn’t see what it said, but they were clearly down on their luck. What stood out the most was that this little boy looked to be around my son’s age and I felt so sad thinking of how devastated I would be if, God forbid, I was ever in a similar situation. So I continued into the store to get what I came for which wasn’t much. My husband was recently laid off so we’re kinda scrapin’ it together, but we’re making it work.
So, while I was standing in line, I thought that though I don’t have much, I’d grab them something from McDonald’s since it was right there. I had a little extra money after my purchase so I got the mom and boy something to eat and also got him an ice cream cone. The smile on his adorable face when he saw the ice cream was priceless and worth every penny in my pocket! She was extremely gracious and very appreciate.
As I’m driving out, I see him up jumping around while he was eating his ice cream. It was super sweet and I honestly feel blessed to have been able to have that little extra money to at least for that moment bring a hint of happiness to them. I’m so happy I was raised by a very loving, humble and compassionate mom who taught us to be grateful for everything we have and to always go out your way to make someone’s day a little brighter! It’ll always come back to you in some way. – Summer ❤
