People Caring For People
I had so much fun when I went to a Bazaar at a Senior housing community this past weekend. I bought a bunch of cute/nice stuff I really didn’t need just to see the smiles on the seniors faces and sparkle in their eyes. My plan is to donate what I won’t use. To me, it’s a win/win situation. – Donna 😀
Tonight, having dinner alone at our once a week normal place, I dropped a five dollar bill and the server came running out to the parking lot to return it to me. Gives you hope in mankind and warm fuzzies besides. – Jackie ❤
Long ago my now ex walked out on my child and I right before Christmas taking anything he could get his sinful greedy hands on. Anyhow, we were without means to sustain ourselves and completely traumatized by his sudden departure and secret life he had been having with his boss. On the day before Christmas, we got home to find a huge leaf size garbage bag on our front porch…filled to the brim with wrapped presents for my child. We only found out later that the teachers and staff at my child’s school coordinated to put this together for my child. Those people who did this will never know how that gesture pulled us both out of a deep despair and gave us both the courage to face our tomorrows. That was 15 years ago now and was a monumental inspiration to help us move forward together with courage. – Lin ?
My husband was given a very nice and expensive coat as a gift, we drove around the beach on a cold wet night until we found a homeless man with no jacket on and gave it to him! It felt so good too! – Janet ?
There was a homeless man getting coins from the fountain early Sunday morning. We saw him and my lady said to help him. I already had some money in my hand, so I gave it to him. As he started to walk away, I smiled and said I understand the struggle. He said I’m so hungry. A tear rolled down my face and I said I understand your struggle. So at Christmas time we help homeless people – nothing like a clean pair of socks to put on weary feet. Hide some cash in there care package. A little goes a long way. I’m so grateful to be alive and blessed, and I want to be a blessing to others all year long . – Brian ?
My neighbours used to dress as elves, ride around the streets on a motorcycle and randomly give boxes of chocolate at Christmas. – Karen ?
A young guy came into the office where I worked one afternoon and gave me an envelope. Inside was a $50 gift certificate for Victoria’s Secret. This was in about 1995. Still have no idea what that was about but it sure was fun to spend it! – Peggy ?
I bought coffee for the next person in line the other day. Then they mixed up the orders and I got the wrong coffee – karma was in reverse that day haha. Still won’t stop me from doing it again next time. – Debbie xx
A few Christmases back I had absolutely no money for gifts, so I bought a bunch of blank Christmas cards and wrote letters of appreciation to my friends. – Elizabeth ?
I met a homeless woman today. Her name is Theresa. She told me that her dad just passed away. I offered her hot coffee or tea, on a slightly chilly and rainy day. She wouldn’t take it. I ran back home and made her a pretty card offering condolences and told her she would be in my prayers. She cried at my simple gesture. I was humbled because there but for the Grace of God go I. Lord, please help me to share the blessings you have bestowed upon me to help others. – Sandee ?
