School fair kindness
Years ago, when my boys had a Fair at school, I went to share the fun of the day with them.
When I got there, my youngest son was distraught. He was convinced that someone had taken the money he’d worked so hard to save for the day.
As I took him in my arms to comfort him and wipe away his tears, his friend who was standing with us reached into his bag and handed him $5. Don’t worry, it’s okay, he said, you can have some of mine.
To say I was surprised is an understatement. They had been talking about kindness in class and it had obviously made an impression for this sweet boy to be so quick to console his friend. Needless to say the boys remained friends for many years. – Anon
