Tears of gratitude
A while back, I fell on my walk to work. The woman that I wave at every day but don’t know came running over and called 911, much to my dismay. According to a couple of others who also stopped, it looked like I may have dislocated my elbow.
The woman put her arm around me and let me put my bleeding head on her shoulder while we waited for the ambulance. It arrived accompanied by two police cruisers and the fire truck with sirens on, that the ambulance drivers waved on.
There are worse things in the world than living in a little town where ALL the volunteers come to the rescue, even if it means total humiliation to the local on Main Street at 8am.
I am in tears of gratitude writing this as it really was just so wonderful, regardless of feeling quite embarrassed. – Susan ❤
