The kindness a stranger in Singapore
I lost my ipad on the way back to Medan from Singapore a few weeks ago. Long story, but basically through pure misunderstanding and accident, the ipad was put in a compartment that was unlocked in a bag that was checked in. Obviously by the time we realised, we were back in Medan and the ipad was lost. It was hard to pinpoint whether it was taken whilst in Singapore or after we got back to Medan. However, as much as it was annoying, I chose to let it go and count my lucky stars that it was only my ipad that was gone and nothing else more important, like my family.
As a precaution, my quick thinking hubby remotely locked the ipad and put a message on it saying that the ipad had been stolen and if found to please call my number.
Today, out of nowhere I got a phone call with a Singapore number. The person explained that he owned a shop in Tampines and a PRC had just walked into his shop asking his service to unlock the ipad because he accidentally locked it and forgot his pin. The shop-owner tried to restore it in good faith, saw the message and told the customer that he couldn’t have the ipad back because of the message on it. And he called me immediately to let me know he had my ipad in his possession.
Totally unexpected and absolutely made my day. Kindness truly ripples and makes the world go round. – May ❤
