This opportunity was worth far more

I was happy that an opportunity for kindness was set before me. On a recent shopping trip to a clothing retailer, I overheard the store owner and the young manager discussing that the manager did not close out a debit card sale properly. This meant the customer had left with the merchandise without paying. The young woman, maybe 23, was in a panic and was going to have to pay for the items out of her own pocket.

I excused myself for overhearing and offered to pay the $25.01 on the young woman’s behalf. They were shocked at my generosity and it took a few offers before she and the owner would accept. My thoughts were that at 23 every penny counts and the opportunity to show kindness was worth far more than anything I could have purchased with that money. I’m so glad I was able to help. – Suzanne 😀
