Find someone in greater need

This year, I was blessed with a very large tax return. A woman that I’m close with (I consider her family) has lost 3 babies to a rare genetic disorder. Two were more recently in 2014 and 2015.

For the last 2 years, they’ve been struggling to get by and still had all the funeral expenses, including a headstone for each of their children. So without their knowledge, I contacted the funeral director in their town. I asked him to put their entire account together so I could have a final balance. They had been trying to pay it for months and hadn’t had the money. I used my tax return to pay the balance so that they could grieve for their children in their time without these bills hanging over their heads.

My friend found out and contacted me very upset saying she could never pay me back. I told her I didn’t want her to. Ever. And that if she ever had the money to pay me back, to find someone else who was in greater need and give it to them. – Anon ❤
