Promise me that you will pay this forward.

I was in the bank to withdraw money so I could pay for our bus tickets to take my kid’s to visit their dad, but the bank said the money had not cleared.

I was really upset and so were my kids was we left the bank. The young lady who was behind us in line followed us out, saying she apologised for listening to my conversation, but she hoped I would not be offended if she gave me $50. I said I couldn’t possibly take her money, but she placed it in my hand and said “promise me that you will pay this forward”, which I did.

I saw a lady one day in a similar situation, not being able to pay for a bus ticket. She was fleeing a domestic violence relationship. I gave her $50 to pay for her ticket and to buy some dinner. Both times I was overcome with happiness and my faith has been restored in today’s humanity. – Iesha 🙂
