Double pride, not double trouble
My twin sons when 16/17 wore their hair in long pony tails and had a wardrobe full of various bands’ black T-shirts that they accessorized with jeans and leather jackets.
One day, whilst walking into town, we saw a frail, elderly lady take a hard fall. Both boys ran to help her up but I suppose she was terrified of their appearance. I caught up and assured her they were good lads and wouldn’t hurt or rob her. They half carried her to a low wall where they waited with her while I ran to a local pharmacy where I knew the owner, to get some treatment for her grazes.
She wasn’t too badly hurt thankfully and just a bit shaken but thanked me for raising two lovely and caring boys and teaching her that you should never judge a book by its cover. – Jeannie 😆
