Though we’re far apart, he is my heartbeat and my best friend
.
I moved from Connecticut to Florida when I was 12. Within my first week there, I met a guy. I was an outcast, nobody liked me, and the friends I grew up with my entire life were what seemed to me, a thousand miles away.
At first, this guy and I would just say hi in passing, which was quite a lot. Eventually we became very close. We would go through periods in life when one of us would disappear for weeks, months, and once, even a couple of years. We always found our way back together though and always picked up right where we left off.
In my early 20’s, mental illness had taken over my life. I was in a Hell so deep that even with an outstretched hand, I could not climb out. My actions landed me in a coma for weeks. When I finally came through, he was there. Sitting there by my side. The nurses told later me that he had been there every single day, for hours just sitting with me. He was by my side through my recovery and while IÂ put my life, relationship and family back together.
Once again, I moved 900 miles away. That was 5 years ago. He has been here to see me once and I have made it to see him a few times. This man is the love of my life and my soul mate, but we are not together. I can always say though that this man is my world, my heartbeat and my best friend. The greatest act of kindness I have ever received was knowing that I will ALWAYS, no matter what life situation I am in, have that one person who believes in me… even when I don’t. – Chadda ♥
