She changed this young man’s life

My daughter is the manager of an apartment building and as such has to deal with lease violations that lead to eviction notices. It can be tense and was especially so with one young man who had some issues with drug abuse and anger management. The police had been called to his apartment a few times by alarmed residents and it only escalated when she had to serve yet another violation notice for his car that he had up on blocks and had been working on for months. The police were called yet again as he vented his anger and frustration on his brother’s car with a baseball bat. Many people just wanted him gone! 

A few days later, as he was working on his car, my daughter went out and took him by the hand and apologized for causing him stress and explained more in depth why she was forced to do what she was required to do and then offered her husband’s help in fixing his car.

He broke down in tears and told her how hard life had been and that he was getting help with his problems but he just couldn’t get a job and he didn’t know what he was going to do. So she hired him on the spot as her maintenance man. Because she was willing to reach out instead of
