Will work for food!

My brother holds a sign “will work for food”. He is not homeless but mentally ill and gets very little money to live on. The meds they give him causes many side effects, swollen tongue, constant leg movement and paranoia, so he quit taking it and drinks to make himself black out so as not to have to deal with it. He is the kindest person. He really wants to work and had a woman take him home to put her Christmas lights up. She had 3 small boys and with the money she paid him he went to the Dollar General down the street and spent it all on her boys.

Not all are like this, but some would like to work and be like everyone. Some have wonderful family but they are embarrassed and don’t want to hurt their family, so they hide. This world doesn’t deal fairly with people. I love my brother and have tried so many times to get him help. No one really cares so he holds a sign and meets nice people and gets help and work. He looks scary with a long beard and big coat, but if you pray with him, he smiles and thanks you. He is human! – Sue
