Each of us carry that same potential…

Potential To Make Someone'S Day Easier.
My husband and I were at the hospital yesterday to meet with the anesthesiologist and a post op class for his upcoming surgery. There was a pretty big gap in time between appointments so we decided to have a bite to eat to at a little restaurant while we waited.

While getting seated, I noticed a couple in the booth behind us. She was a bit cranky, in a wheelchair and not looking at all that happy or comfortable. I then heard the interaction between her and the waitress. The waitress paid special attention to the woman, adjusted the table and wheelchair and even cut the woman’s burger in quarters to make it easier for her. It wasn’t just what the waitress did but also in the way that she did it – with such kindness and enthusiasm. She had that woman smiling and laughing in no time.

When the waitress walked past us I touched her arm. I wanted to thank her for her kindness. Her face LIT UPĀ and she said, “I LOVE my job, I love people.” We had a pleasant conversation about how easy it can be to make someone smile, about the fact that this was a hospital and probably where kindness was needed most. I told her she was making me cry and she said I was making her cry too – we both needed a tissue at this point. She shared stories and pictures of some of her past customers andĀ SHE BEAMED… and you know what?

LOTS of people heard our conversation, and pretty soon the whole place was smiling.

All because of this one caring, loving woman. How wonderful to think that each of us lucky enough to share in her kindness could leave there smiling and hopefully making someone else smile along the way. How wonderful that in each of us, we carry that same potential to make someone’s day just a bit brighter, a bit easier.

So, dearest Tina from Friendly’s, know that you are loved. ~ CindyĀ ā¤
