Be THE ONE!

I have two boys, 15 and 12, and I tell them every morning before they leave for school to Be THE ONE. Kind one, caring one, honest one, loyal one, the one who talks to the kids who may not have any friends, to hold doors open, to be compassionate and appreciative every day. We try and practice random acts of kindness whenever we can and are big believers in paying it forward.

My fondest memory is of my 15-year-old son who last year when it was 40 below zero, saw a homeless person outside walking with no gloves on. He didn’t think twice and jumped out of the car and gave the man his brand-new gloves that he had received for Christmas. He couldn’t have made me prouder. – Shari  ❤
