I lost my gifts!

Whilst shopping at a large centre I noticed an elderly man looking really confused. I approached him and asked him if he was ok.

He told me that he had bought perfume for the workers at his retirement home. He said he had left them at a store so he could finish the rest of his shopping, but now he couldn’t remember which store.  As he was a little shakey on his feet my children and I ran around asking staff at each store if they had the mans gifts. We eventually tracked them down at a large supermarket.

Whilst we were looking for his gifts my oldest son stayed with him. The elderly man told him how he had been a soldier in the war. He knew he was becoming forgetful and kept notes in his wallet. He pulled out a note that reminded him of where he had parked his car.

We returned his gifts to him, carried his shopping to the car and hoped he made it home safely. – Anon

Absolutely Kim. These can be some of the most valuable things kids can be involved in. That’s why I love this story. 🙂

What a great story and I always love when kids are involved. They learn so much from doing things for others.
