It felt beautiful to me
I recently took up McDonald’s as a second job.
This afternoon I was working the counter and a man and a woman walked up. The lady asked him what he wanted. It became clear quickly that they were not together. He was uncomfortable. He was grubby, guessing either homeless or on the road or whatever. He just asked for breakfast, gave him a few quick options to ease his nerves. He picked a few things and then she ordered as well.
I put everything on the same ticket, she wanted to stay in and eat and he said he would as well. Then she asked him if he’d like if they sat together and he accepted. It felt beautiful to me.
I don’t know them, either of their stories, how their paths crossed even. She was kind and he seemed humbled and so was I. – Leora from The Kindness Bucket Brigade page
