Kindness crackers!

This has been quite a week for us as my daughter has a serious concussion and has been out of school all week. She was very upset to learn that she was going to have to stay home on Valentines Day. The kids buy candy grams for each other and she was expecting some (from a few boys I’m sure).

She is restricted from any and all activity. No TV, no computer, no games that take concentration, no going for a walk, etc….so the boredom is overwhelming.I decided that she could help me make “crackers”. You fill empty toilet paper rolls with trinkets or treats, wrap them up, and then people “crack” them open.

She sat in bed and painted rocks, then we filled the rolls (25) with heart confetti, candy hearts, chocolates, stickers, painted rocks, and bouncy balls.

We also got some large boxes of candy and a little stuffed bear. We attached a note and a One Spark card (we didn’t have enough Ripple cards).

Then when I took my daughter to the Concussion Clinic today for her appointment we placed them in random places. The blood pressure machine, vending machines, bathrooms, elevators, the lobby, and cars out in the parking lot. Then when we left we drove through the grocery parking lot and left some in carts and on cars.

We had a few left so we dropped them in peoples newspaper boxes.

She had so much fun and it made her so happy to be part of something today. I only wish we had been able to make even more to pass out!!! – Deanna ♥
