Love and compassion for your neighbor

I found a woman in a wheelchair, stranded in an airport. Her companion had accidentally wandered beyond security and couldn’t get back to help her. Security would not assist either.

I had time before my flight and became her surrogate companion until she could be reunited. I wheeled her around, got her something good to eat and made sure she didn’t feel abandoned. It was wonderful to be able to serve her.

It is all too easy to stay to oneself and not offer assistance in airports, especially with all the worry about holding on to your own luggage and not getting involved. I decided I was not going to let the norm dictate my compassion for someone in need.

Don’t let the grind or what is normal remove your love and compassion for your neighbor! – Daniel
