Tennis star takes time!

My family and I went to the Australian Open in Melbourne yesterday. It was a great day out and we got to see lots of wonderful tennis. The highlight though was when we watched Nicolas Almagro practice! When he was finished he hit some balls into the crowd for the kids to catch. My son was lucky enough to get one and later had it signed as this wonderful young man joyfully came over to the fence for signatures and photos.

I thanked him for being so kind and patient as so many people wanted a photo, and then gave him a stack of kindness cards. He thought I wanted him to sign them but I said, no, they’re for you. He seemed quite touched and thanked me. We watched him pull them out of his pocket and study them as he left the court and was showing them to someone else as we lost sight of him! – Lis 🙂
