Stories of Kindness

I am a health care worker who works in aged care, so I’m classed as an “essential worker” during these COVID-19 times, and so have been going to work almost every day.

We left some colouring pages my children had done taped on our bins, that said thank you on them to the bin men. They took them with them looking very pleased. The next week we got a thank you taped to our bins.

I worked with a guy for a brief while, and he was hurting real bad on the inside. I’d listen to him the entire shift we’d work and I really felt for him (sometimes I’d forget to actually work).

I worked for a very short time at a local store, let’s call it Mal Wart, and it was terrible not only because it was a thankless job, but also because of the super clicky staff.

My daughter has special needs and has a stuffed animal she HAS to sleep with or she doesn’t sleep. She has had it since she was two. Well, she went to her aunts last night and took it to school in a bag. Long story short she left it on the bus and didn’t realize…

Today we drove to Tulsa to wave to our grandson who had emergency surgery. He was thrilled.

We are all experiencing something we never thought we’d live through. It’s causing a huge amount of anxiety for people and we ALL need to be mindful of supporting one another as much as we can. This means trying to focus on the good things and spreading positive vibes during this time of darkness.

At the shops recently I saw a lady wearing an incredible outfit. I had spent over an hour scouring the shops not finding anything I liked. Usually, I would just think to myself ‘oh she looks nice’ but today I decided to tell her!
